The fine print, in English
What we know about you, and what we do with it.
Short version: we collect what you hand us on a form, we count anonymous visits if you let us, and we never sell any of it. The longer version is below.
Who we are
Agency AEO is an AI search optimization agency at 209 E Main St Ste 001, Louisville, KY 40202. It is run by Mark Palmer alongside Omythic and Web Wishery. This policy covers agencyaeo.com and the emails and calls that start there. Questions go to mark@omythic.com or (502) 794-7447.
What we collect
What you give us
When you fill out a form on this site we get what you typed: your name, email, phone, company, what you asked for and anything you wrote in the message. If you subscribe to The Shift, we get the email address you entered. If you call or text, we have your number and whatever you told us.
What the site records on its own
- Server logs. Our host records the IP address, browser type, pages requested and the time, the way nearly every website does. These are kept for security and troubleshooting and rotate out automatically.
- Analytics, only with your OK. If you allow analytics in the cookie settings, Google Analytics counts anonymous visits: which pages get read, roughly where visitors come from, what gets clicked. IP addresses are truncated by Google before storage. If you choose "Necessary only," analytics cookies are never set.
- Form protection. Forms carry a hidden honeypot field and a per-connection rate limit to stop bots. That uses your IP address for an hour and nothing else.
What we do with it
- Reply to you. That is the whole point of the form.
- Before a strategy call, we check what ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI say about your business, so the call starts with answers. That uses your company name and website, which you gave us.
- Send The Shift, if you subscribed. Every issue has an unsubscribe link, and replying "stop" works too.
- Keep a record of leads in our own system so nothing gets lost between a form and a call.
- Make the site better, using anonymous analytics if you allowed them.
What we never do. We do not sell your information. We do not rent lists. We do not add you to a newsletter you did not ask for. We do not share your details with anyone except the services that run this site for us, listed below.
Who touches the data for us
- WPMU DEV hosts the site and stores form entries.
- Google Workspace delivers our email, including the copy of your form that lands in our inbox.
- SendGrid sends the automated confirmation and notification emails.
- Google Analytics, only if you allowed analytics.
- Google Maps draws the map on the contact section. Google may set its own cookies when the map loads.
Each of them works under its own privacy terms and is only allowed to use your data to do that job for us.
How long we keep it
Form entries and lead records stay as long as we might need to follow up, then get cleared. Email lives in our mailbox the way normal business email does. Analytics data is kept for the standard Google Analytics period, currently 14 months. Server logs rotate on a short cycle set by the host.
Your choices
- Cookies. Change your mind any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer. Details are in the Cookie Policy.
- Your data. Email mark@omythic.com and we will tell you what we have on you, correct it, or delete it. We answer those requests ourselves, usually within a few business days.
- The Shift. Unsubscribe from any issue, or reply and ask.
- Do Not Track. Browser "do not track" signals are not standardized, so we rely on the cookie choice you make here instead.
Children
This site is for businesses and the adults who run them. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you think a minor has sent us something, email us and we will delete it.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, the host keeps backups and patches WordPress, and only people who need to see leads can. No system is perfect, which is why we collect as little as the job needs.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top moves and the change is described here. Keep using the site after that and you are agreeing to the new version.
